Legal concerns when buying mineral rights

Buying Mineral Rights requires a mineral deed and therefore a good understanding of the law surround oil and gas transactions.

We encourage our clients to seek legal council when engaging in oil and gas royalty or mineral right acquisitions. You can find lawyers with a specialty in oil and gas by searching for attorneys who are board certified in oil and gas law.  Attorneys are only allowed to be board certified in one specialty. However, most mineral rights buyers won’t need attorneys dealing with oil and gas, but with normal corporate law. After all, you are buying minerals and needing a legal structure to protect yourself.

In Austin, we recommend Groom Law. In San Antonio, the firm of Philip C Mani.
